Development

Next Steps
Rollin’ Fresh is a mobile grocery store, serving Bay Area locals with little to no access to fresh, healthy, and affordable produce such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and berries. As a mobile produce vehicle, we can come straight to communities and individuals in areas lacking healthy options.

We are starting with a truck and remodeling it as an active, hands-on grocery store from the inside to the outside. Rollin’ Fresh’s mobile grocery truck will park in permutable and wide areas in the Bay Area, starting off in West Oakland. Locals within the community can grab a tote bag, go into the truck, and pick their fresh produce from our convenient selection. The truck will also have space saving shelves on the outside of the truck so the selection can be inside and outside.

Prototype
After remodeling our truck into a mobile grocery store, we plan on using bright and fun visuals to attract potential customers to Rollin’ Fresh. Our truck will be designed to look like a shopping cart, which is something memorable and unique to every community.

Future Partnerships
Rollin’ Fresh is currently in the process of making partnerships in the Bay Area to be more manageable and viable as a company. Several of the foundations and grant programs we hope to work with are listed below. As our company focuses on bringing fresh produce and education to areas in need of healthy choices, these foundations would strengthen our foundation.

The Institute for Food and Development Policy, or “Food First” supports community-based projects focused on resolving the issue of lack of healthy food in low-income communities.

The California FreshWorks Fund is a loan fund created to increase access to healthy food in underserved communities and spur economic development. The Fund provides both loans and grants to healthy food retailers and distributors willing to locate in Food Opportunity Areas.

Kresge Foundation’s new “Fresh, Local, and Equitable: Food as a Creative Platform for Neighborhood Revitalization” initiative will support programs that contribute to economic revitalization, cultural expression, and health in low-income communities throughout the United States.

Distinguished Awards
Rollin’ Fresh participated in the University of San Francisco’s 31st Elevator Pitch Competition. While competing with over thirty-two entrepreneurial teams, Rollin’ Fresh won the distinguished Sustainability Award and was featured on Leadership Coach Lary Kirchenbauer’s website.
